Confidentiality is at the core of the Ad-ID system. The system has been set-up so that no one can get codes, search, view or edit the information about a company unless explicitly granted the permission by the Organization Administrator. Each account as defined by the Company Identification Prefix with an Organization Administrator is compartmentalized within the Ad-ID database. Access to that database must be explicitly granted by the Organization Administrator. Without being granted the privilege and associated with a Prefix, a user will not be able to see any information related to the company, the Prefix or any related codes. For example, if an unauthorized user (one without permission) on the Ad-ID system types in a search phrase about Company X they will not get any information back. If they type in a code they will not get any information back. Also, if a user is granted permission by Company X and types in a search phrase, they will get information back only on that which they have control or permission to view, not necessarily everything in the database related to that company or prefix. The Organization Administrator, or the user who issued the code can also actively exclude another permissioned users from viewing or editting the information about a specific code. This feature was specifically included to allow for partitioning access across different agencies or suppliers, as well as for maintaining higher security around new product introductions. |
